About Me
Hi there! I’m Stephanie Mendes (she/her).
I’m licensed as a Registered Psychologist in both British Columbia and Alberta. I also identify as a first generation Canadian of Portuguese heritage, born and raised in the river valley city of Edmonton, Alberta.
I am deeply committed to helping folks work through their challenges in life. My work before becoming a psychologist involved adjacent roles in the mental health field, including work as a consultant for families with children living with autism spectrum disorder and case manager for workers with psychological injuries. I later completed my training hours to become a Registered Psychologist in a CARF-accredited outpatient clinic for individuals experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, cumulative stress, and burnout.
I believe that clients are the experts in their lives and already possess many of the strengths, insights, and abilities needed to navigate challenges and create meaningful change. Having a safe space to share your experiences is a privilege that I do not hold lightly as a psychologist. My goal is to empower you while you develop a deeper understanding of yourself.
